Make an Aquarium
When my oldest son was in kindergarten he made a beautiful aquarium. He is now in the third year of primary school, and that aquarium still decorates the living room. Life originally came from the sea, and for that reason making an aquarium seems like a good idea for this month’s theme: growing.
I asked for his help in making a new one and he immediately told me that it was very easy to do it. We found an empty jar – any size or shape would do; I used one from spices.
Materials:
- Empty jar
- Plasticine
- Small stones
- Water
How to do it:
- With the plasticine, make seaweed that can be attached to the bottom of the jar. Add the stones. Then make small, colourful fish with big eyes. Before putting the fish in the jar we put in water and then the fish.
- Close the jar, and you have an aquarium that will last a few years. You can make it more beautiful by adding little shiny things inside. With a big jar, your child has room to put many small fish and other interesting creatures that live in the water.
To see your aquarium moving you can shake it a little. I hope that you and your child will make beautiful and interesting aquariums!
