“Yummy” Paint Ice Cream
It’s summer so what could be better than a wonderful ice cream? Most children love the chance to use paint, and this activity gives them a chance to experiment and make a colourful, yummy-looking ice cream out of paint and paper.
Materials:
- A5 paper (white works best)
- paint (as many colours as you want)
- PVA glue
- coloured paper (background and cone/ dish)
Instructions:
1. Cover the A5 paper in a thick coat of paint. Quickly use the end of the paintbrush or a cotton swab to make a pattern in the paint. Repeat this process with different colours and patterns until you have several “flavours” and leave them to dry.
2. Cut out a dish shape or cone and glue it to the backing paper.
3. Take your ice cream sheets and cut out as many scoops as you want. Glue them to your backing paper.
4. To make the sauce mix a little paint with the PVA glue and drizzle it carefully over your ice cream. Once it dries, it will have a slight shine.

I like the look of this craft. It seems not too difficult for a small child and with a lovely result.
